Minimum Entry Requirements (UK)

Professional Registration

You typically need to be a licensed healthcare professional with registration in one of these:

GMC – General Medical Council (Doctors)

NMC – Nursing & Midwifery Council (Nurses, Independent Nurse Prescribers preferred)

GDC – General Dental Council (Dentists, Dental Hygienists/Therapists in some cases)

HCPC – Health & Care Professions Council (Paramedics, Prescribing Pharmacists, some Allied Health Professionals)

Ability to Prescribe (directly or via partnership)

Since Botox is a POM, you must either:

Be an independent prescriber (e.g., doctors, dentists, nurse prescribers, prescribing pharmacists), or

Work with/under the supervision of a prescriber who can conduct consultations and prescribe Botox for your patients.

Experience Level

Foundation courses are designed for beginners in aesthetics — so prior aesthetics experience is not usually required.

However, you need to demonstrate clinical skills (injection technique, aseptic technique, patient care) from your healthcare training.

Age & Insurance

You must be over 18 years old.

Must be eligible to obtain cosmetic indemnity insurance after the course (most insurers in the UK only cover registered healthcare professionals).
